The next couple years was a learning process to figure out how to take care of our bees and produce honey and make more bees. We were hooked, there was no going back to life without bees. When we reached the point of producing enough honey to sell the excess (our son consumes a couple pails a year himself) my wife and I sat down to try and decide on a catchy name to market our honey under. As we sat around the kitchen table throwing some ideas around our daughter came into the kitchen and said "Lucky is the cat and Frank is the dog and Lucky Frank sounds pretty good to me." From the mouth of a 7 year old Lucky Frank Farms was born. We would love to say we own our bees but really we just own the equipment, no one can own such a majestic and selfless creature. Our girls tolerate us, and we do everything we can to do right by them.
